Steel and Pipes, Inc acquires Rebar Fabrication Plant

Continuing its commitment to offer a one stop shop for everything needed for construction, Steel and Pipes acquired in July of 2014 the assets and inventory of MATECO, a Puerto Rican company dedicated to the Rebar Fabrication (cutting and bending), which added a new prop for contractors in Puerto Rico.
Production Capacity of up to 3,500 tons per month on (1) one shift. On this Division, the Company has an Engineering Department which oversees and visits clients in their projects, a Drafting Department with 4 draftsmen committed to deliver the “fabrication drawings”  in the time requested by the customer and an Estimate Department. This division includes modern machinery with one of a kind workshop in Puerto Rico and an extensive fleet of trucks for immediate delivery. The workshops are located in the same facilities where MATECO was for over 20 years, in Barrio Candelaria, Toa Baja on Highway # 2.

“Our engineers In the Rebar Division will work closely with contractors and project engineers to provide the same quality and professionalism that has always distinguished us. We focus to ensure an effective flow of the Fabricated Rebar (rod) to the projects, thus avoiding any type of delays in the customer’s project schedule“.
The Rebar Fabrication Division of Steel and Pipes, features an advanced drawing program, which integrates the drawings at the time of construction and marks by “tags” the rod packages for easy identification (at the project) by the customer , added Gabriel Vidal, General Manager of the Structural Steel Fabrication Division, who will also be in charge of the Rebar Fabrication Division.

As part of the added value, this division brings us closer to the client by being able to offer in ONE supplier ALL of the steel needed for a  project: Rebars; Fabricated and installed structural steel; metal roofs be it “Metal Deck” or “Standing Seam”; miscellaneous metals fabrications such as stairs, fences, gates, among many other items.
